Wiper won't park

Hi All,

I'm trying wire up a VT Commodore wiper motor to a universal wiper switch with 4 pins - battery
- low speed
- high speed
- park
On the wiper motor I have connected - red for low speed
- green for high speed
- black for earth
- yellow to park
The remaining brown wire hasn't been used.
The wipers work as they should but won't park when switched off. The park pin on the switch has constant power to it when switch is turned off. Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
