Kingswood Wagon Hx

Ive been looking at kingswoods for the past 5 years and they have grown as one of my favourite cars. I knew one day I would buy one and recently i bought a 77 hx holden kingswood wagon. It has a 253 with m21 4 speed. I was really wanting to get a bigger engine for it but I'm 17 years old and money is very tight from buying the car itself. Just wondering if anyone here had a motor or info on where to get one.
Cheers, Ryan

Run the guts outta the 253 mate!
If you must have bigger, put an LS1 in it. It's getting tough to find reasonably priced 308s.
Bigger is grand! But don't underestimate how much fun a hot six is too.. gnarly.

"And the other wheel overtook me.."

Why would you go from a 253 v8 to a "hot six". LS1 if you can't find a Holden 5.0. Only option.

Nice wagon. I'd like to own that. Please don't wreck it by simply making it fast and flogging the crap out of it.
I'd keep the 253 just put a mild cam and extractors with a dual exhaust in it.
And a Toyota five speed.
A hot six can be a lot of fun, but a mild 253 and five speed would still give you some fun and you'd have an extremely good, driveable car for the the rest of the time.
The overdrive fifth gear will give you easy highway cruising and better fuel economy.
A final word, I knew a bloke many years ago who had fast cars (V8 Toranas and Monaros). He was always in court for being stupid. Finally, the magistrate told him to get rid of his fast cars and buy something a bit slower. He did. The slower car he bought was a 1934 or so Ford Sedan. It was very nice, stock with a sidevalve V8. He just got some adapters made to put mag wheels on it. He said he had never had enjoyed a car as much as he did that slow old Ford.

Old is good.

Nice straight car mate, i like the look of the spoke HZ wheels, tho the front spoiler is a bit out of place to me.
If its just going to be a weekend cruiser, stick with the 253 as mention by fellow member "Old is Good".
Yes I run a TPI Chev in my HJ prem BUT if its a matching number car and motor, well the price will only in-cress over time
