Holdenpaedia, they're the brakes Mate.

I put a new sender in and had sparky fix up the gauge think i have a issue in the wire loom.....

to check the gauge you can disconnect the sender unit wire and connect a variable resistor between the wire and ground. With ignition on and the resistor adjusted to 40 Ohms the gauge should read hot, with 75 Ohms half way and with 280 Ohms it should read cold. You should also have 10V to the gauge from the voltage stabiliser. So check voltage to gauge, continuity of wire from gauge to sender...if they are both ok, then check gauge with resistor...it's a simple circuit..the temp sender is the variable resistor to earth and connected to the gauge coil which is connected to the 10V supply...as the temp sender heats up it's resistance decreases which increases the current through the gauge coil, which heats up a bi-metalic defection arm...ps you haven't put any pipe tape on the sender thread have you? that may affect the earth .....so check you have a good earth between body of sender and engine block as well...
