Carb soak

Been a while since I have been on here after my HX van exploded in rust & went the way of being parted out.
Currently trying to refurbish an old Varajet carb, and having difficulty getting it cleaned out. After trying a number of concoctions, latest is a 50:50 mix of Xylene & MEK, which one would think would shift just about anything, but after 3 days soaking it still won't remove the internal white deposits as shown in the photo. Anyone got any suggestions of good carby soak mixes?

got to be blasted IMO - get a cheap spot blaster and use baking soda. told a mate to try that recently and his edelbrock with similar corrosion came up a treat.

I did clean up the outside of it before starting to dismantle using air gun in a piece of hose into baking soda - worked well getting rid of gunk, but my poor old compressor couldn't keep up the flow. Might see if I can borrow a better compressor to try the internals.

I soaked the lower half of one in blitz aluminium cleaner for 3 days, forgot about it, cleaned it up nicely but it eat into it on the outside in one spot. If i'd left it for 1 day it would of been good.

I had to give up trying to hot up the old holden 6 after I drove mums Avalon.

Any acidic or basic cleaner will promote more corrosion as soon as it is exposed to air. If you clean it right away it may be okay. I would try soaking it in diesel or better yet biodiesel for a few days.
