Vn304 into Hq

Hey jim here . I'm putting already built 304 vn into my Hq one tonner. I currently run a 253 trimatic pattern with a 350 Holley and a celica 5 speed . The vn 304 turbo pattern has been totally rebuilt with balancing porting flat tops Roller rockers head work and ground. I'm putting a carbie on top.. I'd like to put a 650 hp .. it's a daily drive and I would like it not to stop at every fuel station .. is their much difference between a double pumper and a vac sec 650 in fuel economy.. do I need thermo fans ?? How efficient is getting new pace makers coated for heat transfer.. I'm worried about clutch cable melting.. I'm thinking 2.25 inch exhaust with mufflers just in front of diff .. is their any mods I am missing .. starter motor , water pump, bell housing issues etc... will the dizzy and coil fit the vn off the Hq or do I need electronic ignition

with just one holley your dreaming it will guzzle fuel like no tomorrow is what every holley does when compiared to efi. How many blokes can honestly say they have a carbied v8 that will beat an EFI v8 of the same cubes in a street car keep the bull[Naughty Pottyword] believable will ya

most of the time I fix things properly, it ends up taking longer when I dodgie it because I have to do it again anyway.

I think he meant 650DP as in the carby size not 650hP...

just my thought, personally stil prefer my well set up quadrajet than EFI. old school car, old school fuel system. But then im not worried about fuel cost...

go the quaddie, much more sophisticated carb than a pox holly...they are only designed for std motors or full throttle applications.....the quaddie can be sorted to handle the modified motor. will give good eco if driven carefully

I have a 304 and T5 out of a VN in a HG ute. I have the extractors heat coated and melted two clutch cables before I changed it over to a hydraulic set up from Mal Wood in Warwick. There was no way to run the cables far enough away from the exhaust.
