VR Gearbox troubles - help :P

Howdy all,

hope santa was good to you all, all he gave me was gearbox troubles,

the auto in the vr seems to be on its way out, the fluid level is fine, and the fluid clean, but 1st gear started dropping out intermitently about a week ago, now 4th (od) wont engage under any throttle but will coast and upshift, but flash back to 3rd as soon as throttle is applied, if that makes sense :)

i've got a vp with the th700, aside from the loss of the lockup torque converter due to the different wiring looms, am i able to bung the 700 behind the v6 ?

transmission dude said it should work ?
any thoughts, awesome advice ?

any help appreciated,

scotty.

Your VP transmission will work behind the VR engine, but you will have the check engine light on continuously because transmission fault codes will be set. You will also need to fit the VP TV cable and any of the throttle body gear that may be different.

Don't try to modify the wiring to hook up the VP lock up torque converter to the VR computer. The torque coverter clutch solenoids do not accept the same control signals.

Brett.
