got some shiny new 8's (front and back) - TYRE CHOICE!

245/50/14's or 245/60/14's

will 50's look dicky on 14's - like toy wheels on a big HZ?

off the car i quickly put an old 245/50 onto one of the 14's - it looks hot - but on the car will it look crap?

was this done back then? (70's)

what do you think?

I run 50's on my 13" dragways on my HR and they look nice, so you won't need to worry bout that

*IMHO*
i see what you mean about which one to choose, it's a pretty close choice but if you are sticking with 245mm tyres & 14" wheels I'd tend to go for the 60 series. They'll handle better overall, give better fuel economy, less engine wear and last longer - all due to the larger overall circumference. A HZ is a big square car and unless you dump it into the weeds 50's may be a bit thin. I'm sure you know the series number means "percentage of tyre width"; with this in mind i think 245/50/14 tyres would be too thin for your car. If you were using 265 tyres or 15" rims (or both) i'd definately go the 50 series.
Hz's came stock with 65 and 70 series tyres on 14" rims so 60 series is still an improvement for this model.

there are no stupid questions only stupid people

i would go the 60 series tyers, the 50 series tend to tram track, i dont know that 245 will clear the guards at full lock they tend to hit on the inside ,

most of the time I fix things properly, it ends up taking longer when I dodgie it because I have to do it again anyway.

Don't whatever you do put 50's on your 14" rims you''l regret it. I've got them on my hx ute and they look far too small for the car. They almost look like i'm running 13" rim's on the old girl. As soon as my tyre's are low i'm changing them to atleast a 65 series tyre. I am also running 245's all round at the moment and they dont scrape on full lock. Hope this help's

Cheers Darryl
