thermo fans on HZ

Hey guys, i fitted twin au thermo's as i said earlier, they are awesome.
i got an adjustable temp sensor, so i can control when they come on. i can watch the needle go down as soon as they start up :). Wasnt too much trouble putting them on. I dont have any detailed photo's but here are mine installed.
Also on a note, i am running the standard 3 core v8 radiator, didnt touch the radiator, so this fan will bolt up to any hz holden v8 radiator now.
They flow approx 3000cfm :)
If there is any interest, i can get more detailed pictures

Hi, doing this conversion soon and was wondering how did you hook up the adjustable temp sensor?? where did you put the sensor, what sensor did you use etc?? How did you hook up the electrics?? did you use relays?? I heard these draw alot of amps. Any info on the would be appreciated.
Cheers
Scott

Hey holden fan :P
i used a relay to hook up the fans, if wanted i can draw up a more detailed diagram, but i put each fan onto the relay, earthed the fans to the body of the car, earthed the relay to the body, put one point of the relay straight off the positive of the battery, and the other connection i put to my adjustable temp sender unit, which then ran into my accesories/ignition ... cant rem, just get a wire thats on when the car is running :)
i dont know what type of temp sender unit it is, as i was given it from a guy at work who no longer needed it. but i put it at the top hose before the thermostat.
as for amps, i notice a slight voltage drop when they kick in, nothing too major though, as long as ur alternator isnt stuffed u should be fine :)
i will take a couple more pictures tomorrow of the fans, brackets i made and electrics ...

I have the same thermo fans as you do, pretty much the same wiring setup ( cept im running 2 relays, 1 for each fan) and a brand new 85A alternator - i get about a 1 volt drop in power as soon as they cut in, the voltmeter drops from 14 to 13 volts and pretty much stays there until they turn off during normal day driving....

But im assuming my current overall earthing problem with my headlights and indicators may contribute to my voltage drop. But seeing how my thermos power of the battery and body i didnt think that should happen.

On a quiet day you can hear the Fords Rusting

You've got a definite Primary/Alternator Feed drop if not an earth problem as well.

An 85 will carry that load at normal driving speeds without losing
a volt.

I connect my thermos between the chassis and the starter tap via seperate relays and individual fuses.
