Log on to the rev site and put in rego engine vin number to see if its stolen or owed money. Look under car at subframe gear box diff leaks .

Toranas have a habit of rusting behind the bonet hinges, below the radiator on the mounting frame, and shockie mounting points in the boot.
Power steering, no such factory option.
Gearbox will be all syncro expect for reverse.

On top of my LX check list would be rust.

Look around the windscreen rubbers (front and rear).

The base of the centre door pillars.

The under-side of the air vent plenum chamber (under the dash). On the passengers side (to the left of the glovebox) there is a right angle plastic duct that is screwed to the plenum. Check around these screws for rust. On the drivers side check the area where the steering column mounting bracket is spot welded to the plenum.

Cheers, Jeff.
