mechanical injection

hi all just wondering if anybody has ever played with or knows some1 that has mechanical injection on a holden6, would this option be better for chasing HP than a carb? and what are some pro's and con's of this setup

never run it, but have spoken to a couple of guys that have.
its more expensive, but will flow more air and fuel. good for methanol where twice as much fuel is needed. there is a company called aussiespeed which have taken over from cain in manufacturing holden 6 manifolds. they make a manifold to suit mec mechanical injection.

you won't get as good a mixture as a carby setup. the injection is triggered off the dizzy drive(?), so it injects proportional to engine rpm. there is no vacuum adjustment or accelerator pump.

better for chasing bulk HP. not very good for street.

for the info i was unaware how they worked, they do look tuff on a six though, there is a setup on ebay sofar its at $250 but needs a freshn up i have also seen the manifolds from aussiespeed,sounds like a big carb is the way to go then

a companey called olbos or similar used to doa setup for tripple su manifold i used it on the street used an aircraft fuel punp with home made metering body with an ajustable mixture screw not a pill like magee or similar worked real good once we sorted out the slow starting. to start with it realied on vane fuel pump direc from tank then we put a header tank about 6inches square with a holley fuel bowl feed from car tank by an electric fuel pump. solved the starting problem . we put the header tank about 4 inches down from nosels . 1 nosel feed 2 cyl like sus do so fuel was mixed good . id do it again but with magee or similar . dibs

do you know if olboss or magee are still around, i done a google search but no luck, it sounds interesting and sounds like it could work well if its setup properly

i dont know about olbos but im sure magee are still around any decent hot rod shop would tell you .

The head with springs,valves etc,rocker cover,exhaust plates & hand
ported retails for $3,700.
With the head & injection manifolds (bare with butterflies only ) the
price will be $ 4,650.
