You Don Have a VH FAQ's Page???....'

"I have posted myself as a user, but I have no answer in my E-mail yet."
Well, Im at my wits end. I'm trying to rebuild my blue 202. I would like it to peform a little better than a stock motor, so I would like to maye rebore it to a 208 or so-on. To put it bluntly...I don't have a clue when it comes to the specs of doing up a 202, or what I can do to it within reason.
Basicaly I want to put a mild cam in her and flat top it. I have ran her on premium unleaded for 3 years, and found that she ran great. I know what I have to do when converting her to ULP.
Please let me know what I'm in for!!!!
To give you a helping hand...I want to put a Turbo 350 or 400 in it so I can get it moving. I've been told that a Tri-matic is no good for high performance 202's.
lastly......I will pay money for any helping hands and minds, seriously.

THANK-YOU

I have a fairly worked VH 202 (for sale), just my 2 cents worth but I honestly would not be putting a TH350 or 400 behind any 202, they just drain soo much power, stick with a trimatic if u are goign to use an auto, they do handle a fair amount of power, and then if its not up to handling the amount of power you have just get it rebuilt. The exhaust is a good way to start, then the cam, carby, heads, and a thermo fan adds alot of hp in a 202. email me for more help at cdu_1999@yahoo.com.au

Hi rusty here,

post your self again as a user, others have become one since so I would say it is working AOK. Email me your member name if you are still having too much computer mileage.

On the FAQ question, no we don have one..yet. It is a good idea though, if anyone else thinks so post here and I will put some up. The forum is a bit poxy. all that you see was put quickly with the aim after more visitors to develop better/more bits to help. So this is only the start.

Hope you get some answers to your 202.'

Paul, if your motor is knackered and you have to bore it out then a full rebuild sounds like your plan. I think your best bet with the 202 is to talk to a mechanic or your engine builder, both people should be able to give you the best idea on what it is going to cost and how well the engine will go but if you are arn trying to build a drag car i think if you spend $1700-2000 on the rebuild you should be able to get a motor that will be good for anything up to about 130-140kw at the flywheel, which is roughly between what you would get out of a vr-vs commodore. Also if you want to get the added benifeit of fuel econ/drivability/power stick EFI on it, that should be a relatively easy conversion for the VH Commodore. As for the trimatic, the only problem i can see with that is theres only 3 gears. I have seen plenty of 202's with trimatics backing them up and let me tell you, there are no problems with them in that respect, provided you spend the right money and get them tricked up to suite the engine its bolted too. But i think if you are looking for the sort of power i am talking over above then the trimatic will be fine.

Regards,

Sammy.

As an owner of a VC Commodore i think it would be a great idea for a VB - VK FAQ. especially because these cars are so similar
