mate why not even if one is a dummy pipe, you can't beat the look of dual pipes on a kingswood.

Growing up 1n the late 70's when we got our first cars it was the
thing to do to compliment the impala floor shift(3 speed) and the speco chrome rocker covers.Freo just isn't the same now!

Sounds like a cop-calling stereo system if you ask me ;-) Having had an exhaust like so in the late 70's (as was the style at the time) I suggest you make provision for a balance pipe between the two extractor outlets, so when the noise finally drives you nuts you can connect the two halves together so both pipes receive exhaust pulses at 6-cyl frequency rather than each getting 3-cyl frequency. Maybe even a valve to block or unblock the balance pipe - that'd be cool!

When a pipe gets fed from only 3 cylinders the exhaust is much more "pulsy" and it will generally excite a resonance in the pipe length at about 3000-4000 rpm and it will really bark and is quite difficult to muffle. I wanted to keep the unique 3+3 sound and I eventually succeeded in shooshing it up by having a single muffler on each side at the very end of the pipe and right in front of each an empty chamber of about 6 litres capacity. All the bark occurred inside the chamber and it still sounded way different from my mates cars.
