Gemini Body Kit

Hey people,

I'm looking for a supplier of Gemini CDT or ZZ/Z Body Kits.
I'm planning to respray the little POS myself, and i figured that i may as well go the body kit too. Actually planning to put the blue and red racing stripes on it too and making it a unique little replica.

Its just that they are prooving a little more elusive than first hoped.

If anyone has one, or knows someone who does, or knows of somewhere making them. Please let me know,

Email : TheJuicyOne@Gmail.com

Thanks Oldholdeners!

Gemini Fibreglass Body Kits

G'Day mate, I did reply to your email, but just in case the email was lost in cyber space here it is pretty much as I sent to you;

I can do the kits to suit the Gemini in the original style as to what was fitted to our old Gemini when we first bought it, to be honest it is the better fitting kit of the two as the CDT kit was an absolute bitch to fit up, the front Spoiler looks lame, that is why I used the Sprint front Spoiler and front leading edges off of the front Flares, the Sprint kit has the little piece that fits up to the Sill panel where the CDT kit finishes at the bottem of the Doors, hence why I made up the Side Skirts the way I did, the CDT rear Flares need to be spaced back around 50mm to clear 13"x235x50 Tyres, so anything much past the standard diametre and width will require major surgery to your original Wheel arches and mods to the Flare to lengthen it to suit, CDT look ok but are a pain...

Now you didn't specify what model you have so I will put them all down so you can work out what suits you ok? ;{D

The Sprint kit is as follows;
Gemini TX-C-D Sprint front Spoiler - HFS40 - $125.00
Gemini TX-C-D Sprint front Spoiler to suit Flares - HFS42 - $150.00
Gemini TX-C-D Sprint Wheel Arch Flares front - HWAF09 - $180.00
Gemini TX-C-D-E-F-G Sprint Wheel Arch Flares 4-Door rear - HWAF10 - $165.00
Gemini TX-C-D-E-F-G Sprint Wheel Arch Flares 2-Door rear- HWAF11 - $135.00

Gemini TE Sprint front Spoiler to suit Flares- HFS43 - $145.00
Gemini TE Sprint Wheel Arch Flares front - HWAF12 - $180.00
Gemini TX-C-D-E-F-G Sprint Wheel Arch Flares 4-Door rear - HWAF10 - $165.00
Gemini TX-C-D-E-F-G Sprint Wheel Arch Flares 2-Door rear- HWAF11 - $135.00
Gemini TE-F-G Sprint Rear Spoiler Internal fit 3-Pce- HRB24 - $225.00

Gemini TF-G Sprint front Spoiler to suit Flares- HFS44 - $145.00
Gemini TF-G Sprint Wheel Arch Flares front - HWAF13 - $180.00
Gemini TX-C-D-E-F-G Sprint Wheel Arch Flares 4-Door rear - HWAF10 - $165.00
Gemini TX-C-D-E-F-G Sprint Wheel Arch Flares 2-Door rear- HWAF11 - $135.00
Gemini TE-F-G Sprint Rear Spoiler Internal fit 3-Pce- HRB24 - $225.00

I would need your State/ Town/ City/ Post Code Details so I could quote you on P&H and optional Insurance (Which I highly recommend) to your front door...

I've been eagerly awaiting an email from you, and i think you are about on the money for the 'getting lost in cyberspace' thing.

I'm in SA, postcode is 5096.

I'm not 100% sure of wether i will or not, cos i'll be paying about what it cost for the car just for the bodykit, that and it is technically not my car, so first i'll have to discuss it with my brother and see if it fits in with his plans for the car.

But you have been most helpful, i have been stuffed about by every company i've approached about it, talon fiberglassing (who in their history page say that they used to make the CDT kits back in the day) gave me a list of three companies i could 'try', all of whom were less than helpful, one got back with a simple "NO KITS FOR GEMINIS"... hmm... yeah nice! Not rude at all you ******. Oh well i should have emailed you in the first place!

I'll be in touch.

Kit Availability

Hey mate. I know this post is extremely old. just wondering if the kits are still available for a 76 TX coupe. If you don't do the, where else could I source them from. Cheers. If you could reply by email would be great. ongedre@hotmail.com

thanks again

Mr Juicy re: Gemini Body kit

You did email me mate… ;{D
Just for some strange reason my reply to you never made it thru? :{/

The CDT kit is a right royal pain in the arse!
When I fitted mine up to the Wife's Gemini it came from a Ridgey Didge CDT Gemini, we saw the kit advertised in the local paper and went to check it out, some old bugger (jeez probably not much older than me now Sheesh!) had bought his Daughter a little Gemini to do up as her first car, he reckoned it must have belonged to some 'Hood' as it had the wrong engine in it, an 1800cc motor with two Carbs and it ran as ruff as guts and barely idled, it had the 'stupid looking' Body kit on it, had 'silly' Bonnet Vent thingy’s on it and he re-sprayed it and put it all back the way it should be with a reco'd 1600cc engine, he replaced the 5 speed with an Auto, got rid of the silly Wheels off of it and put the nice later TG SLX Hub Caps on it... 8{0

I asked if it had Red and Blue stripes running down the sides and he asked me if I knew the car as yes it did?
Arrrggghhhhhh!!!! :'{(
He had destroyed a genuine CDT Gemini!
When I told him what he had done he couldn't care less and reckoned it was a much nicer car now as his Daughter didn't need all that silly stuff on it, I couldn't believe it lol

But, when it came time to fit up it was a Biatch of a job, we had 13x7" Cheviot Phantoms wearing 235x13"x50 Yokohama’s on the rear and 215x13"x50's on the front, I had to move the rear part of the Flare back 50mm for it to 'just' clear the Tyres, I had to cut the full wheel arch lip away by around 75mm to get the Flare to sit right, all 4 Flares were different, I had to move the Driver’s rear Flare back 55mm and one front Flare I had to cut and lengthen by I think 15mm to get all the gaps right, just as well I was originally intending to mould them in otherwise I would have thrown them over my shoulder and gone back to the Sprint Flares... :{/

The original CDT front Spoiler looked down right ridiculous, so I cut the front leading edges off of the Sprint Flares and used a later TG Sprint front Spoiler with the Air Ducts as the TF front Spoiler never had the Air Ducts and if you have ever tried to panic stop a Gemini from 180kph (or more than twice for any other application) you would quickly realise the woeful Brake fade these cars suffer!

So while I was at it I decided to retain the original Sprint rear Spoiler which suited it far better than the CDT, my Wife was the 2nd owner of the Gemini and it was a genuine SL Sprint, we had over $18,000 worth of receipts with it when we bought it and it had a Turbo 1600cc motor before we bought it, it had Twin DCOE 45mm Webers on it when we bought it, but my Wife dropped $2,300 on an 1800cc motor, then while the Gemini was being built re-freshened the 1800 and dropped another $4,200 on it, it blew off one of the local guys XU1 which he had dropped over 6grand on the 202, he owned Shadow Performance later on and still never forgave the Wife for opening up a can of whoop ass on him, it drove like a Brick on Rails… :{D hehe

Not sure if you have seen our old Gemini before but you can see it here;

oinks - the old gemini

Oinks,
i found a detailed write up on an anglefire website, going over the complete build it wasn't till the end when ... hey i know this gemini from somewhere.

I wanted to do a very similar vehicle to what you built all that time ago, personally i was looking at going the g200 SOHC from a rodeo just for ease of parts, and putting on some neat 15" bathurst globe ripp offs with the raised white lettering on the rubber, coupled with a kit and a white car it'll come up pretty beastly! So that's what i plan to do over summer as i learn to spray a car, i figure better i naph the gemini than the SLR...

But yeah if i go through with it you might get the odd cry for help, or a quick call on your vast fibreglassing / general vehicular knowledge part way through. i'll get back to you on the kit ASAP.

CDT Kit

If you are going to 15's then forget the CDT kit mate, the new owner bought a set of 15x6" Momo's for the old Gem and popped around to ask why they wouldn't fit, he could get them on the front but they refused to turn without catching on the Flares which I had cut back to the original 'lipped' Guards then glassed and moulded them in for a factory smooth finish, but when he tried to put the 15x6's wearing 205x50x15's under the bum he couldn't even squeeze them between the openings, as I said, I had to enlarge the openings by cutting the wheel arches off right back to the inner guard on the rear so I could get the Flare back far enough to miss the 13"x235x50 Tyres, I even went to the lengths of running 15mm diametre Commodore Heavy Duty LPG rear Springs with one coil removed and Adjustable Koni's to stiffen things up to stop them rubbing, anything over 13x6" Wheels will be a compromise, maybe if you jacked the rear up like we used to do in the 70's and 80's, maybe 6inches or so, that should maybe clear the wheels from scrubbing, or should I say, jamming in the openings... :{S

CDT Flares a pain? Yesss Sirrrie Bob they is!

Pig (OINKS308)

Hmmmm

Oh well,

Looks like the Flares are out of the picture then,

I had a plan for what my gem should look like, and it involved the 15's, and the bodykit came in as a second thought, unless i take a heap of time and piss about with foam, releaser, and a f-off big file and try to shape my own kit... (somehow i don't see that working).
But yeah the 15's were in the plan so i could upgrade the brakes at the same time to some bigger discs and calipers.

But if i can't go bigger on the rims, then i kinda makes it hard...
