WB Transmission, 3 speed to 4 speed auto

Currently running a stock 3-speed Auto trans in a WB panel van behind a 308, geared for commercial use. Wondering what my options are for swapping it out for a 4 speed trans.

whats involved in doing it?
easy and straight forward?
What have people used themselves?

Cheers
Kirby

My commercial had a 3.36 ratio diff on a trimatic 5litrev8. After putting in a 308 ratio diff .. Mmm goodness! I used to want a 4 speed.. T700 etc, but I'm finding the trimatic with a good diff is brilliant.

Done the conversion on a 253, pretty simple, few wb specialty bits hard to get like clutch pedal. They run different cable setup to earlier models, special bellhousing and cable.
Ran a 4 speed for a few years, not worth it. Likely to break it, M20 not very robust
Gone to 5 speed conversion, supra, very happy. Few tricks getting right shifter as only a rare one fits through original tunnel hole.

Seriously consider keeping trimatic.

Thanks for the info guys, prob look into changing the diff as a cheaper option in the short run. The future goal is to also do a Supra conversion.
