You are here

can of worms!

Hi all! Hoping someone here knows this scenario.. Or can help me narrow it down..
Quaddy on a 308 with trimatic. Engine starts ok, sometimes needs a pedal prime. Warms up great. Fast idles 1400-1600 Base idles at 800. Switch from N to D and she stops in her tracks. Every time unless fluttering the pedal a bit while changing into gear. If I adjust the hotair choke and lock it on, and readjust base idle to 800rpm, it changes gear flawlessly..
Cheers in advance for any thoughts or suggestions

It sounds like an excess of air, either through the PCV or some kind of air leak in the inlet manifold.

Don't forget that an air leak in the PCV is the same as an airleak in the inlet manifold.

Are you using the flat oil filler cap that VH used?

and it did cop a knock at some stage, it is a bit wonky so I will have a very close look at that! Have been doing my own head in trying to figure if it's excess air or fuel or a blockage.. Cheers for the ideas
