Vacuum Advance Electric??

I have been told there was a vacuum advance connected to a sender on the transmission (M21 4sp) and I've found the pink wire cut at the fuse box and relevant sender on gbox. My Gregory manual only shows HQ which doesn't seem to have it.
Car is factory 308 but I'm just throwing in a 253 which I know runs while I find the adaptor to my turbo pattern 308...which by the way is out of a WB, hope the carb set up is the same. Both engines are running factory carbs.

1. Can anyone give me more info or pics/diagram for this pls.
2. Is that the same set up for the 253 and 308?
3. Is/was it a good reliable set up?
4. If no, what alternatives are there using stock carby?

Most probably a switch on the tranny that only turn on in top gear. This switch controls a valve that lets manifold vacuum pass through to the distributor vac advance only in top gear. Exhaust emission control stuff. http://holdenpaedia....

The carbs are similar, just jetted different, same cable set up
I thought the WB was a trimatic pattern, could be wrong.
If you are not running the full pollution set up, then don't worry about connecting it, the wire from the switch is an earth btw, the power wire goes to the vacuum solenoid, not that switch

Thanks bloke. Interesting, you're not the first person who said all wb v8 are Aussie pattern. It definitely had a turbo 350. Wb 1981 deville. Wonder if it is a tri attic pattern with different bell housing...I'll have to look because I was planning to put the m21 behind it but I have to work out the clutch. I have a very old cRs conversion bell housing I used to run on hq but I've lost the throw out fork etc. I didn't actually look at the pattern.

I have a Deville outside, fairly certain it's a trimatic, but haven't looked...
If you want to be sure, check the id tag, M40 is trimatic, M41 is turbo

from April 1980 till November 1981 turbo 350 then trimatic till end of build.

Tag ID's M40 is Trimatic, M41 is Turbo 400, M 38 is Turbo 350

All tho it is known that some factory Turbo 350's are marked M41

Wanted information from any one that has any information that has worked in a place that built ambulance's of any type in particular holden hq to wb's and any ambulance builder's paper work or manuals thanks authorised collector of emergency electrical's
