Big supermarket fuel discounts "no more"

No more than 4c litre as from 1st January because it's hurting the other fuel retailers.
http://www.accc.gov....
Bullsh!t.
The truth of the not-really-changed-at-all situation is in the last paragraph. Discounts in excess of 4c litre must be funded from fuel sales, includeing other items at the fuel service station.
So, instead of getting your cornflakes and chips in the supermarket, buy $30 worth in our fuel supermarket and we'll give you 10c/20c/30c litre off.
Nothing has changed, except which of their shops you spend your money in to get the discount.
I hate the b*stards.

Disclaimer :- The above is purely speculation and is only posted for entertainment purposes!!!

The watered down fuel that the supermarket stations were selling wasn't worth 4 cents to begin with.

WHAT? no gravy?

I haven't seen or heard about one for months now. Used to get them roughly once a month... just in time to fill the tank, and the 2 containers I have. Might have spent $200 but still a lot cheaper than the 'regular' way. Things are obviously tightening up.

They don't make em like they used too!

They shouldn't be allowed to "load up" the price of supermarket products, so that they can then offer you a "Discounted" price on Fuel!!

Yeah- do your shopping at a petrol shop (I call them that because there is no more "service" at a service station) . That way you can pay 4 dollars for a small packet of cornflakes (twice the price of the supermartkets), and get $2.00 off your petrol.
These big mobs don't do anything that does not make them a quid somewhere along the line, they are not doing you any favours except killing off the small independants so that you WILL only have their shops to go to, and pay their price.
A jihad on Woolies and Coles I say!!!

"If your car has quarter vents, a diff at the back, and was available with wind-down windows, you may talk to me.
Otherwise I am not interested. Amen."

I bought a tin of baked beans at the local caltex/woolworths, shops were closed, was in a hurry, and paid $2.60 or something like that, next day went to woolies and same tin of beans, same brand and all, was $1.10. same goes for bottles of coke or choccies.
so if you plan on shopping at the gas station to rack up fuel discounts think again.
