Here's the HX Wagon

Model:
Engine:

This is what I'm going to swap my HG for. It currently has a dipstick spitting 202, 350 Holley and extractors, with a cloumn auto. I'll probably put a stock Stromberg on until I get a V8.
The stockers are staying, they look better than any mags would on this car. I may change to a T-bar shift if I put a 308 in.

It doesn't look half bad as best that can be told from a photo. Tailgate the rear quarter and doors look clean in the photo.Looks straight.Limited view but looks good.
Are the stockers the sixes or even maybe more.HQ's came out with fives and sixes but with sixes on the V8's.
That dipstick problem would be a headache with eng iol all over the place.Perhaps it can be jammed down or something What does it go like. If it has blowby, pressure blowing past the rings, the performance, or lack of it should be noticeable. A giveaway sign of blowby is ioly dampness and iol around the sump.Iol sqeazed out through the sump gasket due to the pressure. Not a good sign.If its bad it usually means the motors has had it.

What needs fixing with the HG.I thought it was pretty good?

It is very straight and has none of the usual rust problems. The dipstick prob is fixed. I think the wheels are six inch.
The HG has nothing wrong with it, I just like the cruising wagon more. It's got a neater appearance and requires less body work. And I just wanted something that I didn't have to muck around with all the time, parts are cheap and in good supply, they are easier to work on and I'm more familiar with the series.
Beside I need something to cart my gear around in.

Firstly, I don't feel good about that "Bitch" thing, so in future I will refer to you as "Pink". That cool?
Under the rocker cover where the PCV valve is, there is tin plate that stops oil from splashing into the valve. Under this plate was caked up withdried oil, ie; crud. I just spent about a half hour cleaning it with petrol to flush it out. It breathes good now.
So, It's a liitle tip that everyone can use...keep your rocker cover clean on the inside, so your PCV valve can breathe.

Thanks, that's interesting.
For anyone who hasn't worked it out yet, the pink bitch is MY CAR. Seems to have caused a lot of confusion. She was christened The Pink Bitch by my girlfriend (now my wife) because Pinky does not take kindly to modifications of any kind (anyone who has ever modified any car will probably sympathise with this... you change one thing and before you know it you have to change 5 more to make everything work properly again).
But Pink is cool, i'll answer to anything.

Well, everthing that has been mentioned about the blow is correct ( I'm glad to see a wealth of knowledgein this place, unlike some other sites!!). But with the T bar auto??? It can be done but, unless you want to take to the wagon with and angle grinder / jigsaw, i would leave that to the panel beaters. It's not fun to do. Though i have seen on one vehicle a raised section of where the hole in the tunnel should be, but only on that one vehicle. I personally wouldn't do it my self.
