fuel additives

after reading the current article in street machine and having always been a skeptic as far as fuel additives/octane boosters go...i put it to the test...and the results kicked arse!!!!

the following is from street machine...

the best concoction for 12;1 compression or lower street cars is BP ultimate and NULON pro strength octane booster, mixed exactly as per instructions on the bottle. "apparently" it is the best over-the-counter fuel you can buy--better than avgas or BP 100 on the dyno!!!!!!

so....having read this i thought i would try this fantastic concoction and see how the warm 308 liked it....i purchased a bottle of NULON and made my way down to the local shell to fill up with some optimax.....

the results as far as more grunt, low down torque, a bucket load of top-end and a heap of deep down throaty roar, absolutley astounded me!!!! even mrshzv8 was quite pleased with the obvious power increase using this new found HP in a bottle....

fuel economy was a little better as the higher octane booster/fuel mix was providing me with a BIT-MORE-BANG-FOR-MY-BUCK...along with the general stuff like smoother acceleration and when it was time to tramp it...it performed...

the only down-side i can see is that 500mls of this stuff retails for around $28.00 although i did get mine at trade price of around $17.00...

but it does work....

they reckon that there is "no real difference but BP ultimate seems to be kinder to needles and seats, fuel lines, power valves and any other rubber components." also BP ultimate seems to have a slightly better fuel curve on the dyno"...
