Contact the seller and see if this complies with the relevant Australian Standards if they exist. At least they could tell you is whether or not the hydraulic rams are compliant. The design looks fairly common so I'm sure it would function adequately. Personally I think these style units are too cumbersome, bulky and far too complicated for one off home use. I built mine from 50x50x3mm RHS for a total cost of a couple of hundred dollars.
There are some pics of mine [http://gallery.oldho...|HERE]

ive helped make a couple, best one we used 2 engine stands, something that usually happens is with bort ones, you still need to make up mounts to suit your car, which can mean another expense, they are brilliant tho,i have seen picz of one made out of a two poster hoist, they were mounted at oppisite ends, different, the arms had a plate joining them together with bolt holes to mount onto vehicle,

I had my car no one of theses for 18 months ,
Over all worked well and I sold it for close to what I payed for it .
Took two people to flip the car over .
The piece that runs along just above the ground and joins the 2 main pieces together was a bit flimmsy. With the weight of the car on it it flexes and twists making the car hard to flip .
You can see in the pics it's in about 4 lengths that join together with a crappy screw clamp system . I ended up welding the above mentioned pieces together and it made a massive improvement .
I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again .
