old holden ?

ok I don't consider them old holdens but the spares guys at holden consider them antique.im looking for a new accelerator cable for a 2001 jackaroo.they are n.l.a from holden and haven't been availiable since 2009(that's just 5 years after the last cars were sold !!)for a $42 grand car new I think that's discusting(and definatly no new holdens for me.) anybody know of a company that sells these(original or aftermarket)?. cheers. btw im in bris so closer the better.

..I ve been out of the trade for a couple of years but Repco could get us a lot of cables. Flexi-drive was the name on many of the packets.
Only drama is this was mainly Falcon/Commodore stuff (accel and kick-down cables). Not sure if a Rodeo will be common enough(!!).

Steve, Q-ball nailed it in one.

Flexi drive agencies is what you need, they have been excellent over the years.
We have used them for one off stuff when trying to get cables to convert our Chev's to auto etc.

They do have a lot of stuff listed, as Q-ball said, a lot of the aftermarket stuff is theirs, but they will also make stuff to suit / size.

If you take them a cable and say I want this in x length, they will make it to your specs, or even if you specify the two ends you want and give them a length, they'll make a cable to your specs.

I'm surprised you haven't stumbled across them over the years and there in Coopers Plains, so not super far from you..

I believe there is a law that parts must be available for a period of ten years after last production, you would find that the parts would have been available until that time, most surplus is then sold to an after market supplier. The date you have referred to would have been the last time the part was produced or imported. Don't stress, as above its not a hard part to have manufactured if you can't find one in the link above. There are plenty of cable and wire shops around that can manufacture what you need in a matter of minutes.

How about the wreckers? If your stuck I'm sure a second hand cable would get you out of trouble.

thanks guys I need an "off the shelf"item if possible.its my fathers car and with mum getting leukemia treatment a few days a week on the gold coast and brissie we cant afford any downtime with the car. the cables not broken yet but is starting to get "notchy" so im getting in beforehand.i tried most places but no go( ive used flexdrive before but not same day service). its looking like I will have to buy a secondhand one(for the outer sheath) and get a new centre cable installed to ensure no further hiccups(bit of a long way of doing it).cheers steve
