extractors can make a significant impact on a stock motor such as the 149 you have.
The standard cast iron headers arnt very efficient, but are alot cheaper to mass produce.

Extractors work in 2 ways.
1. they allow the exuast gasses to get out easier with less back pressure and
2. as the gasses come out in pulses can be length tuned so that the pulse from one cylinder creates a bit of a vacuum, scavenging gasses from another. improving exhaust flow further.

So if you fit extractors you should see better economy, as well as a bit more torque and/or power. The amount of torque/power you get and where you get it in the rev range is dependent on how the extractors are designed. e.g. 6-3-1 vs 6-2-1 vs 6-1.

Adding extractors is one of the simplest things u can do to improve economy/power.
