HQ Wipers Working From A HZ Steering Column?

Hi all. I took the ratty old HQ steering column out of my tunna and converted it to a HZ column. A mate did the re-wiring and we figured out everything BUT the wipers. Basically, we plugged the wiper switch on the column into the existing plug under the dash, making sure that colours matched. So essentially the wires coming from the cluster under the bonnet are the same colour as the wires from the column.

We can't figure out which wire goes where on the wiper motor. I have 6 wires .. yellow (12v when ignition on), green, light blue, dark blue, black and white. There are only 5 plugs on the wiper motor, 4 in a square cluster and one on top. Now one of the wires will be for the washer bottle, but who knows which one, and where the hell do the others go??

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. A toggle swicth for single wiper speed is starting irritate me....

Thanks in advance guys

I haven't hooked up an HQ wiper motor to an HZ column, but have hooked an HQ wiper motor up to a WB Stato column which may or may not be the same. There is one wire that is a different colour in the WB column but I can't remember the colours...sorry. It was one of the 2 top wires on the plug...maybe the one closest to the body.

From memory, the Dk Green wire is the washer motor wire.

I'll have a look tomorrow arvo and post the conversion for you tomorrow night OR download the HQ wiring diagram from the gallery (on Page 14 from memory) and send me an E-mail and I'll send you the WB version (qute at oldholden dot com with the obvious changes).

Qute,

Cheers for the reply. I found the wiring diagram you mentioned on page 12 of the gallery, just for future reference :)

If you could send me the WB version you mentioned to eldubya.lonewolf@gma... I would appreciate it mate.

Yes, I realise it isn't hard to do, but I don't have access to a HZ wiring diagram, hence me posting on here hoping someone had a HZ diagram I could snag.

Cheers for the reply.
