Silly question guys but do I try follow the wire to the positive side of the coil through to under the dash and put the relay there? Because that's gonna be difficult, it seems to go into an abundance of wires inside tape etc..... And i cant follow it anywhere. And if rather low have an ugly relay in my bay if possible.

Run 2 new Wires.

1. 30 Amp Cable from the Starter Tap to the back of the Dash via the Firewall Grommet near the Brake Booster. Connect this to Relay Pin 30.

2. 30 Amp Cable From the Coil +ve to the back of the Dash via the Firewall Grommet near the Brake Booster. Connect this to Relay Pin 87.

Then wire a ground Wire to Relay Pin 85.

Then connect one end of a new Wire to the original Coil +ve Wire near the Coil and connect the other end to the Relay at Pin 86.

Mount the Relay somewhere suitable under the Dash.

i put my relay in the engine bay
run power from the starter motor to 30 on the relay
run a earth to 85 on the relay
run a new 30 amp wire from 87 on relay to positive on coil
and take original wire from positive of coil and connect that to 86 on relay

pretty sure thats how mine is hooked up, works

Did it this arvo and my mate who was helping said to do it another way.
I ran it as follows
Original wire from car to switch
Power straight to battery
Earth to an earth point
Power out back to coil

Seems to work, now has 12v at coil

She was just a whiskey maker, but I loved her still.

Well I took my carby to a bloke last week as he put it on a motor as said it wasn't right, went over it a few times as he found te idle jets weren't drilled from factory. He put it the motor again as it was better once he drilled them.
Web I put it back on my motor is was much better.
I thought I'd check the timing now it idles and it was Realy high. So I thought there was something wrong even though I hadn't changed it. After ages of trying different things including fixing the voltage problem today unchanged dizzies ad still did it. Turns out my harmonic balancer is had it. The outside has slipped from the inside so I can't time it off there anymore as its completely off. Reckons there is like 45 degrees at idle. So time for a new one.
