Stereo troubles

Hi all

Having problems with the new stereo I bought yesterday
It's all brand new clarion gear I got from the shop I wired it all up and for some reason if u turn the volume up past 22 roughly depending on the song it turns off and ten back on and off etc.... And even if I leave it on lower it will do it aswell.
I have done plenty of stereos for mates before with no dramas but this is really pissing me off. I have checked every join and it's all fine taped over ever crimp connector to be sure but still shorts. Checked earth everything an still does it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? And could it possible be a faulty head unit?

Cheers
James

how did you run it. did you use the cars loom or what. it sounds to me that your drawing too much power, alot of new head units do.
you could run a direct power from the battery with a fuse inline to power the constant and earth directly to the body at a metal point for example guard bolt or ect under the dash.
i had same problem with one of mine when i used the standard stereo power loom.

Many Hi-Fi Installers run a Power Line from the Starter Tap with a Fusible Link.

The Chassis Earth Strap needs to be seriously uprated if the Chassis is used as Earth. Just run 3 extra 30 Amp Feeds between the Chassis and the Battery -ve. These aren't fused.

Holdenpaedia, they're the brakes Mate.

Just check your speakers are not earthing out. When you turn the music up they might vibrate a bit more and the positive wire on the speaker might be touching something .

Modified is horrified

thermal protection, amp is drawing too much power, turning itself off till it's ready to go again. Mine used to do it (all Alpine) when sitting too long.

They don't make em like they used too!

Checked the speakers aswell they are all fine,

As for the amp theory, the amp is only powering my sub not speakers though
I'm leaning towards the main power option.
Going to give that a go this arvo and hopefully it's the go.

Will double check the others aswell though

I have a very wide variety of music I like but haha so it must be a fussy stereo.

Sounds like the power draw too.
If orange/Yellow is the main 12V run that the the positive on the battery with a fuse.
