Ls1 in WB issue

Hi there I own a WB ute which has an ls1 auto in it!

Recently I did a head cam swap which I did myself

My question is

After I finished I started it up ran fine rough but good for an untuned
Ecu problem is once it got up to normal temp the idle
Changed from a messy top fueler kind of sound
To an extreme rotary kind of sound

Now my first thought was the ecu is trying to
correct the tune and failing at doing so because I have been told
That the ls1 will start reading sensors like the 02 once
Up to temp

Now I know running open headers can trick the 02 into thinking the
Engine is running lean and therefore dump more fuel into the intake

But I just wanted to get an opinion or 2 before I make the 1200km trek
To Townsville to have the car tuned and then have them
Tell me I screwed something up

Any thoughts much appreciated

Steven

It'll need a tune. Oztrack tuning can do remote tuning and he knows his stuff. I use oztrack to do remote tunes for my HJ wagon with LS1 (head and cam upgrade) and auto.
