Help

Hey guys, yep I'm still here.
Question, Brothers HR, finally going, has 1.6 ratio roller rockers, solid cam, 550 thou lift, can we use a blue motor tappet cover as the crap chinese chrome one spews out oil....
Failing that, is there a way of reducing the amount of oil from the solids going to the top of the engine, as it is just rediculous the amount of oil coming out...
and before you ask, new motor, tripple SU's

Cant help you with the rocker cover query but I would think clearance would be marginal with a stock cover?. The oil to the top end is an easy fix. Simplest way is to bang in a set of "edge orrifice" lifters. These are specially designed to restrict the amount of oil flow to the top end. In sealed power brand they are pn AT840r,but a few different brands are available.

Stories of tall rocker covers being made from 2 covers came to mind, quick search revealed this thread and a few others, hope this helps.

Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy car parts, and that makes me happy :)

Pugsly is correct about cutting and shutting 2 stock covers. I built one from 2 stock covers to clear not only rockers but also a stud girdle so it had to be quite high. You will also see an oil return line that drained oil back to the sump ( blocked off in pic as being used on a near stocker )

Aussiespeed make rocker cover spacers to lift the original red motor rocker cover up to clear roller rockers. Using the original rocker cover would solve all the baffle issues.

You would need longer rocker cover bolts or studs might even be better as they would make lining up the spacer and two rocker gaskets so much easier.
