Try doing a search, this topic has been done to death. 34 ADM Weber from 3.3 XE is a better setup than a holley in my opinion. Other good (and cheap) basic mods are HEI ignition from early Commodore etc and some second hand extractors. Lots of good info here: http://oldjohnno.id.au/ Keep in mind it's not worth pouring money into an engine that's pretty tired in the first place. If you're only sticking with the six because you're on P's then I'd just wait till you can drive a V8. A good service and tune up might be enough till then.

Put a good exhaust on it first. No good making more power if it can't breath out. Don't skimp.

They don't make em like they used too!

Yella terra head, 34adm weber carb, stage 2 camshaft, HEI ignition, extractors, 2" or 2 and 1/4" exhaust.

350 Holleys are crap for cold starts and use alot of fuel, 34 adm much better option for performance and economy.

Pretty much, you may also consider triple SU carbs, they are great although are quite dear. You will also need adapter plate for 34 adm weber to fit your standard manifold, redline torker manifolds are a good standard replacement too and also will require an adapter plate. 2" or 2 1/4" exhaust is all you need.
