rocker cover breather?

Evening all, just having a few drama's with a mate's speedway car. It's a vb commodore with a blue 3.3 but with a heavily modified red 9 port head. We bought the car a couple of months ago blowing no smoke where it has sat. We have now fitted the motor into the new race car and apon firing it up it's blowing a bucket load of light blue smoke out of the exhaust. Tends to be more once it's warm. The rocker cover has a breather at the front but the rear outlet has been taped closed ( how we got it ). Do we need to put a breather on the rear of the rocker cover as well? it seems to be blowing a little smoke out of the dipstick tube once dipstick has been removed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
cheers ray...

Open it like it's sposed to be, probly building pressure in the block, might start blowing seals soon.

They don't make em like they used too!

If the filler cap at the front has been replaced with a breather then opening the rear where the PCV valve fits probably wont help. Do a compression test and if the compressions are ok then you just need oil rings. If the rocker cover is after market then check the baffle under the breather is not getting blocked by the breather.
