On facebook, you can block whoever you want and then you cannot see anything the blocked person posts nor can he see anything you post.
This would go a long way toward fixing oldholden up.
It would only be "fixing oldholden up" for those whiney, fearful members with a poor constitution.
The addition of functionality like 'blocking' would, in fact, stop this from being a community (warts and all), and reduce it to a cliquey shambles.

from what i know there isn't a way, that's why people hijack other threads-story's, i'm guilty of doing this as well,
just add to the story who you are after
this is a great site but would do a lot better with a few changes,
eg:
be able to PM (private message) others...................
if a story has a new message its goes to the top of the list, so people dont have to put NM in threads to keep in tough of the story
most other forums do this
