Ignition Lock Troubles

Hey Guys

Just wanting to know if anyone can help with ignition problems. When you turn the key to start it has no recoil the key stays in the forward position.so I thought I might take it out & replace it with a new one,is it difficult to replace the ignition?
Thanks
Dave

what ever you do dont buy an aftermarket ignition lock.. all complete junk. either source a good used one or get your broken one fixed.

Hey Dave. If I understand what your saying and I think I do, but The spring preload is in the ignition switch midway down the steering colom. Just a thought.

to clarify jamie, the spring is not in the ignition lock itself the spring is in the mechanism further down the column where the steel rod goes down to. no need to touch the ignition lock. it can be a bit fiddly to adjust the mechanism when you replace it you have to use a 1/8 I think drill bit through the hole to line it up.
its in the manual gregorys or haynes.
