HK Monaro 307' Auto Tailshaft colour from factory.

Hi'I'm new here ' I have a HK Monaro 17/10/1968 with a 307 chev Auto and 10 bolt diff' what colour was the tailshaft originally 'someone was telling me it was a dark green like british racing green. Thankyou

Dark green is the correct colour for HK 307/Powerglide & 10-bolt.

Hello all ' would anyone know where to get' that woodgrain material that goes around the heater control area and along the glove box' under the speedo and gauges through the light & wiper switch ' I know you can get it Repo but my brother recons its lighter in colour than the origonal stuff ' I wouldnt worry about it' but he is a fussy prick. Thankyou

If no one here has any for sale you could try swap meets. They might only be sold with the complete glove box lid, heater facia etc.

Length is 53.71 inches, Diameter is 2.75 inches.

Hi all' would anyone know if the yoke size on the 10 bolt diff are the same size on the banjo diff 'would a banjo yoke fit a 10 bolt. Thanksagain

Very different 6cyl to 8cyl and not sure if the banjo and salisbury will interchange. (Almost positive they dont). Note you cant just unbolt a yoke from a diff and bolt oneback on. The word preload makes an appearance hear!

Thanks' my HK monaro has the 10 bolt diff ' series two' but the tailshaft I have is from a series one 307 HK monaro monaro' apparently they had a banjo V8 diff 'just wanted to know if the yokes are the same size. Thanksagain

Only difference btw series 1 and 2 is the engine. When gmh realised they could sell more bathursts than planned, they sent out for more 327's. Gm unfortunately had ceased 327 and were producing 350,s. To save holdens bacon, they made a batch of 327's by destroking the 350. They were dogs. The ht had a stronger tailshaft but the hk used the same uni size for both series1 and 2 and i would expect the hk to hg v8 shafts are all interchangeable. U probably know all this...cheers
