both internal indicators flash

hiyas long time no write ..never had any problems until now !
Took the car to the auto electrician thinking my alternator had given up the ghost (was under warranty) but alas was something to do with the wiring behind the dash (gts dash i put in)
When i got it back when i indicate the internal flasher on the dash is bright as it should be but the left one also comes on but faintly.Putting the left indicator on its the same. The indicators work on the outside though.

So i decided to take off the dash and have a look.Rewired the whole thing again. Was working fine on the floor.Screwed it back in well blow me down the indicators are doing the same.Plus now i have engine noise and indicator noise comming through my stereo..
And the tacho flunctuates with the flashing

Any ideas where i should start.I know ill have to pull it out again but where to look first ? any obvious things i should be looking for?

Check for bad earths.
Also re your temp gauge post.. are you using a new sender with the new gauge, presuming the gauges are not the same make.

Dash Earths

The Dash Earths are not connected properly causing Dash Current to flow through any Device it can find including the Tacho.

Me,too....

Hi,all...
Had this problem too on and off over the last year.
Yesterday, took out the square panel/box that indicator light bulbs screw into...and the copper (??) pins on the back that the wiring plug onto were dark/sooty from old age and years of use...so shone them up with some sandpaper.
But on the down side, the small round crimps INSIDE the plastic holder look sooty too.And are too small a hole to shove sandpaper into.
I`ll figure it out...possibly even pull all crimps out of plastic block,if I can find suitable replacement-sized crimps.Possibly thru Jaycar electronics??
Good luck
Dusty
P.S. after reading this,I`ll check the dash earth out too...

Dusty
