Trimatic v's powerglide

A mate has stuffed his trimatic and bought a powerglide box.
He got nothing else, just the auto so hopes he can use the trimatic bits such as the floor shifter, torque convertor, tranny mount, tailshaft....speedo cable even ?

Does anyone know if this is all good or are things NOT interchangeable ?

speedo cables different screws on the powerglide box
might be able to adapt the floor shift but it is different
tranny mount is the same
think the tail shaft needs to be longer??

what pattern is the glide?if its a one piece housing itll be a chev pattern or turbo pattern,,if the bell housing can be removed itll be a 6 if it has a starter pinion bulge,,if no bulge itll bolt up.

Wasn't there an Aussie pattern Glide in around the Broughams?
Which I thought was a one piece?

the chev pattern is one piece,,the 6 un bolts,,a v8 unboltable holden glide bell housing is rare,,the first glides were cast iron!!

ramo-the "universal pattern"is the chev bellhousing pattern was used on SOME 308s that originally ran a factory turbo 350 or 400 (or a ht glide) . 253s(and the other 308s) were trimatic pattern.the different bolt pattern is drilled into the block,not the gearbox.v8 cast iron glides finished in 63.
