Hi all, i took my car for a roadworthy ( passed & now registered finally ) once off the hoist i noticed the right rear sitting higher than the left rear, The springs are brand new so what should i be looking at to fix this issue ?

Hi all

just a quick one, sometimes when i push the clutch in i hear a funny whistling noise until i let the clutch out again. The cluth is only about a year old, and it's only been on the road for six months!

i have a feeling it could be the thrust bearing but i'm not entirely sure.

One flaw of this ute is an unaccurate reading on the speedo, it reads too fast. I have sussed that it is a powerglide from a HK. o the end of the cable it has a 'red' gear/cog. The rare spares catalogue has six different gears listed. does anyone know which gear will suit a 3.55 rear end? or will none of these suit? Has anyone played with this combo?

This is my recent purchase. My beloved HR was sold to make space for it (already regret it). An EJ ute, HR front en, red motor and powerglide (which doesn't read properly on the speedo, will post a thread aking for help!). $1000, $229 for rego, $10 ww stromberg (had a 350 holley, rubbish) and it was good to go

have just fit Venturi sleeves to my 350 Holley and jetted it down to 52's and fitted about a inch or so spacer under the Holley. Now when i start the car it is Revving itself pretty hard (not sure how hard, Tacho doesn't work) have checked there is no pull on the accelorator cable, Choke off and idle screw almost all the way out.

Does any one have any ideas on why it would be revving like that?

My central locking worked fine on my ute until I chopped the indicator wire that was running through my front guard, because I had to remove the guard.. I also removed the battery for another issue.

I re soldered the RHF indicator wiring and the indicator now works, reconnected battery of course and my central locking doesn't work anymore. I checked all fuses in fuse panel and they are fine.

The module itself makes a clicking noise as you press the remote and I tested for power at the RH door actuator with a test lamp and there is power being supplied. Same situation with earth to the actuator. I didn't test the left hand door only because that door trim hasn't been off since the central locking was working

The module and remote are only months old.

For those that dont know im restoring a HX GTS Monaro Sedan, im looking to re do all the black for the trims, door handles, tail lights etc and im just wondering what the name and paint code for the colour is. I know from late 77 on they used a colour that had a little bit more of a gloss, my car is 2 months before that change so it should be the first colour used. But if anyone has the name and code for the later one as well would be good too.

i would like to know if i LSD diff can stuff up by just sitting around for a very long time i have heard various opinions from people so i thought i would ask some experts who know old Holdens as i am finally getting settled into the new place and slowly getting my garage sorted out at least i can see my GTS under all that dust once my mates van is out it might be time to start finishing it been sitting for about 12 years usual story bills come first,not enough time. but you never know this might be the year and i don't wont to fire it up put it in gear and stuff something up so any help would be great

Currently purchased a 1970 holden, unsure of the exact type as its kinda looking like a frankenstien. Its got a premier window, a rear end with lights and trims that i have not seen on a ht before, and only has single lights up the front. I need a front bumper for it, and im trying to hunt down a 308 with gear box under $1000 if possible. It will be reco'd so working preffered. after wb ute seat belt storks to suit onetonner,drivers side /passenger side ,description are as follows,wire rope type with plastic sheathing around wire rope then connects to an rpm seat push button buckle ,which push button is orange,used in onetonners with bucket seats,not bench seat models ,if u have can u contact on 0413-610-134, sydney area, cheers

Hey guys. I have an HG prem with a VN diff on HT stud pattern. I am upgrading the front discs to HQ. Rather than fork out $380 for blank HQ discs, I was thinking about changing to HQ stud pattern. This would mean buying a set of HQ/Z rims, and changing the VN diff to HQ pattern. What would be involved in changing the diff stud pattern? I have a VN wagon as a donor car in case I need another diff or parts. Will the HQ rims fit OK on the HG?

I lost all electrics when driving? It was at night and I used my diper switch to turn on high beams but the whole thing cut out? It's a 1970 HG premier.

Earlier I had used the dipper switch to turn on the high beams but lost the lights, I then switched back to low beams and everything seemed fine. I then tested the high beams again and lost everything.

I have checked the fuses and battery terminals, all good...any ideas?

G'day,

I was driving (HG 70' premier) and got a complete loss of electrics when I used high beam dipper switch. The lights, fan, indicators, everything.

I had a quick check of the fuses but it all looks ok.

I had lost the headligths earlier until I flicked back to low beam and then I tested again by hitting the high beams – that's when I completely lost all electrics.

I have pulled the dipper switch out this morning and press it a few times, gave it a jiggle and refit but still nothing. I've checked the battery terminals and they're all good.

Any ideas?

Can someone who's not in a car club take a car to the Canberra Wheels car show on Sunday 21 Mar 10 and actually have it on display with all the other HQ-HZ's? I feel like taking the Kingswood for a drive but I don't want to just park in the car park, it hasn't been out in a while and could do with having a run.
