Article- Holden closing down: The makes and models tipped to become a 'goldmine'

"The FBs and the EKs and the HDs – are they going to increase in value? That I'm not so sure on." - Loffler

https://www.9news.co...

That quote is from Don Loffler. A few people have commented that they expect old holdens to increase in value. Of course thats true for Monaros and performance toranas, comodores etc.. But-
Personally, im not so sure with the everyday cars due to older owners selling off their possessions as they downsize and their health deteriorates. Most younger people have little interest in "old cars" If they do, their desires seem to go toward modern cars or japanese hot 4's. (But that's just my opinion) I'm certainly not getting excited about a "Goldmine" ATM
Don't know what others think?

Unfortunately all some care about old cars is the money they can potentially make out of them. This crap only fuels that and hurts us all.
Younger people do care about cars. I've had primary school kids on my bus talking about their dream cars. They were talking about Kombis, Harleys, hot rods and 57 Chevs and one year 5 kid mentioned his dad's Grange. The others said there is no suck thing. I looked at him and said, "You're dad's got a Grange? They're awesome". It gave him instant credibility and I got a mate for life.

Old is good.

Talking about instant credibility David. Years ago when daughter number 1 got her P’s in year 11 (probably 9 years ago now), she had saved a little bit and I matched it and bought year a tidy 1976 Chrysler Galant (because I liked them and thought it would be a good little car for her for a while) anyway as much as she was thankful for having it and her independence, she didn’t like it for the fact it didn’t have all the mod cons like air conditioning, power windows, power steering etc...hey it only had a crackly AM radio.
Anyway after the first week at school with it, all the boys started to recognise it and were asking “who owns the cool Galant” pretty soon she was popular with all the young fellows.
