dragging brakes

so............got a problem with the brakes on the EH dragging.
all original 4 wheel drum brakes with a vh44 brake booster.
brakes were all done with the resto 5 years ago.
pads, wheel cylinders, springs, hoses, master cylinder and booster.
this has only just started happening. i can sit at the top of my driveway ( motor running so vacuum to the booster) with a reasonable downhill slope with the brakes on but when i release the pedal it wont move. if i turn the car off (no vacuum the brakes will release.
i have backed the wheel adjustment off as far as it will go and its still happens.....thoughts anyone....
is there a return valve in the master cylinder ?????
do i need to flush the brake fluid????
HELP....

Yes change brake fluid, also check brakes all round for loose/missing pins, adjustment etc

another thing to try is to loosen the pipe union at the master cylinder when the brakes are stuck on/dragging. if there is pressure, it may be the master cylinder sticking. if not, check each wheel for a sticking wheel cylinder. wheel cylinders sticking is quite common with seldom driven cars. sometimes it's good to get them out as a daily driver once every couple of months to keep everything sweet

If your project doesn't work, look for the part you didn't think was important.
