Front Wheel Bearings - FJ Holden

G'day all

I've searched the internet to try to find a set of FJ wheel bearings, and it seems they're few and far between. Some sites are saying that 48 (FX) and "early" FJ bearings are the same, and that "late" FJ and FE are the same.

My car was built in July 1954.

Another site says that FX, FJ and early FE are all the same!

They can't all be right!!

My questions are as follows:

1. What (in this case) is an "early" FJ? Would this be the same cut-off date as the "early" FJ wheel bearings (February 1954)?

2. Does anybody know anything about all this, and could they set me straight, please?

I would appreciate any help.

Regards

Ajax

fj's had a different front wheel bearing to later fe onwards
the early fe's shared the same bearings
that allowed you to convert the front stubs to 13 inch pattern by fitting early FE front hubs
the early FX's use a BARREL type bearing
theres a seller on ebay he sells the bearings user name ZACs Bearings
being a odd bearing they are not cheap
hope that clears it up for you
your car being a 54 will use the same bearings as early FE

is it possible to check what you have to identify a part number? I'm thinking "early" would be within first few to several months of production...so up to Feb 54 sounds about right as "early"
