Fuel economy on a holden 202

Hey guys! Just wondering what kinda fuel economy figures you all achieve on the old holden six, ie 202?

I do quite a lot of highway miles and wondering if I can squeeze anymore out of my old 202 powered wagon.

I wouldn't mind knowing how many K's per litre you're achieving and what motor, carbie, gearbox, diff and running gear you're using to achieve those figures.

Cool around 10 K's per litre then? I'm currently doing a little over 11 K's per litre right now. My carbie's running a tad rich, as I can start it dead cold without choke and runs fine so I know it's not quite right. Looking to get onto that as soon as I've got a chance then see what it does. I've got a 202 block at 40thou just rebuilt, with 2.8 blue closed chamber head, with mild crow cam, 350 holley and extractors, with toyota w50 5-speed and 16" tyres. Planning on giving the weber 34adm conversion a crack soon and see how it goes.

I'd rather drive my old holden than a new ford!

I used to get consistently 20-22mpg (13-14 litres/100km) city driving from a stock HX red 202 trimatic Van with 3.55 diff on leaded Super in the 80s...

Yep! That's what I've been hearing. I know the Holley I've got is running slightly rich as I can start the car dead cold without choke, which I know it shouldn't be able to do. I'm going to get around to fitting one of the weber34adm carbies I have, then report back with some pics and maybe a youtube vid.

Well,
I had a tinker around with the weber 34dam carbie last week. Looks fine at idle, but dam it's blowing some fuel smoke on throttle. Until I can get it sorted, whether that being correct jetting or whatever, I'll have to leave it.
