HR front end bush

Does anyone know if you can buy the bush that is welded on the HR crossmember that the bottom wishbone pivot pin goes through?

I think the best bet is to get one made and then weld it in yourself,
thats the only way i know to get them done

suggests that oversize lower control arm pivot shafts can be used if welded bush is worn...available here as an example

Andrew

I've seen the oversize shafts, but Nathan reckons we have a lot more than .004 wear.
I think we are going to have to go with the fabricated bush and a new oversize shaft.
Are the shafts threaded into the bush? I think they might be. Does that mean we would have to get the thread cut into the fabricated bush?
Nathan broke a pivot at Raleigh Raceway about 6 years ago. Going sideways through a pothole on the side of the track apparently puts all kind of stress on the pivot that it wasn't designed for.
The "mechanic" who put the new pivot in did a sh!t of a job. He reckoned it wasn't a tight fit so he welded it in at the front. I think the welding might have softened the pivot and that's why it's worn.
So, now we've got a bugger of a job to do.
Anyone know of any cheap HR front ends or just a bare crossmember? It might be the easy way out.

Old is good.

i think you'll find getting a new bush made will probably
cost more than another good used x member
there was one on gumtree over the weekend for $200
looked to be in good condition
i'd start there

looking at the new pins available the inner "threads" look to me like they may be more for an interference fit than truly threaded...so I'm suspecting the bush isn't threaded..if you have more then 4 thou movement it could be wear in the shaft and bush...so oversize shaft may still do the trick...also if you have that much wear you would think they would come out easily and so you can inspect the bush..Im thinking it may be easiest to fit oversize shaft and if still movement you could weld it to the bush..just an idea...
