1/2 inch is not much at all..I do not believe you will notice any practical significance re the wheel camber (which is what you are talking about). In theory the toe in or out is affected by lowering the car ...you should get an alignment after lowering...you can cut the springs with an angle grinder...remember if you do you only cut off half of what you want to lower eg 1/2 inch if you want to lower an inch...there is some basic mathematics to prove this as well as toe in but you can look it up if really interested..

Only problem with cutting springs is IF YOU get in an accident your insurance company wipes their hands of you
I just went out and bought HD Lowed springs
Better to be safe than sorry

It’s all ready lowered 1 1/2 king springs and had a wheel alignment I want lower it another 1/2 inch but the car has the wrong upper arm pivots on it. See pic.
As you can see if the extra 1/2 inch lowered puts the top of the wheel out it won’t be a problem but if it puts it in when I get a wheel alignment it will run out of adjustment.so lowering will the top go I or out

personally i wouldn't bother for the sake of half an inch
also keep in mind that you have to have 100 mill clearance under the car or the cops will defect it with the wheel of death
so i'd check first at the lowest point under there if half an inch will lower it below thw 100 mill minimum before doing it
