EJ EH radio knob shaft

Hi folks. I have a Holden EH radio with an unusual knob shaft. The right hand one seems standard, but the problem is the left hand (tuning) shaft. Have a look at how fat it is compared to the right hand one and most other radios. It's also shorter, but doesn't appear to have been broken. What on earth sort of knob would fit here..? Keep in mind it also has to house a dummy back knob also, to match the right side which is for volume and tone. I have three of these, all manual tune and all the same issue. I also have push button ones, but they have standard split shafts on both sides. It's messing with my head. The correct type of EH knobs won't fit this.

to my knowledge (limited) the original radios did not have a power transistor on top like yours has - so that makes me thinks some kind of conversion/repair has taken place which may have included changing the variable tuning capacitor - what has me baffled though is you say you have a few the same? PS I notice the radio on top is a WB Series 1 Statesman caprice radio/casette

Andrew

That shaft looks like a standard 1/4" type, which was what most potentiometers, rotary switches, etc, used around that time. Any 1/4" grub-screw type knob will fit, but you may have to hunt around to find something that will match the other one.
