VK 3.3 Black Flywheel same as red six?

Is the flywheel on a black motor the same as the flywheel on a red six?
Will a spigot bush tap straight into an automaticc black 3.3 crankshaft?
Any help appreciated.

i'm pretty sure Black and blue motor flywheels are larger than red motors
And yes the spigot should tap straight in as far as i'm aware.

Someone else on here will know for sure.

Does that mean I couldn't put a red flywheel on a black motor?
I'm thinking of putting a black motor in the EH, but I want to keep our Supra conversion, which is set up for a red six.

Old is good.

I think they still bolt on and can be used on each motor, they are just different sizes therefore need different clutch kits

Please get this confirmed off someone else on here as I am not 100% sure but thought I'd try help out

G'day David,

The Blue/Black flywheels are lighter than a Red motor one.

If you do what you propose, all you'll need to change is the Pressure Plate (and maybe the clutchplate) assuming the bellhousing you are using clears the larger blue/black flywheel.

If your bellhousing won't fit over the bigger flywheel, you'll need a different one of them too...

Red flywheel will fit the Black crank (same bolt pattern).
Black crank has a locating dowel that needs to be removed.
Spigot bush will fit.
Red and Blue/Black clutches are different, so fit the one that suits whichever flywheel you use.

Thanks for all the replies.
From T's link pictures and the replies I assume that the flywheels are the same diameter and the only thing that will hit a red bellhousing is the larger black pressure plate.
It looks like I'll go with the red flywheel and clutch.
I've got a spare red flywheel and spare new red clutch kit for the Supra I can use.

Old is good.

Red Flywheel weighs approx 11kg.
Blue 3.3 Flywheel weighs approx 9kg.
Starfire Four Flywheel weighs approx 10kg.
I weighed them with bathroom scales, so approx weights only.
I haven't weighed a Blue 2850 flywheel, so can't comment if they are the same as a 3.3 motor, but a 3.3 motor has a 6kg heavier crankshaft than a Red Engine.
All are the same diameter and share the same crankshaft bolt pattern.
