Back then you could order pretty much anything from the model year if you really wanted it.
It was a common conversion done on cars that weren't new.
It would be hard to prove it wasn't on the car from new without the dealer order form or the original invoice.

Yes, dime a dozen conversion once sold, got a few HQ Stato and Prem front ends tucked away. But haven’t heard off one optioned from factory. I’d have to see documented proof that it was fitted from factory or dealer.

I saw a 2 door Statesman (HX I think) once. Parked at a shopping centre here in Mexico, it looked 'too factory' to be home made. Told my old man about it (he was a Holden Dealer), he remembered 2 being built (there may have been 4?). The one I saw was obviously one of them. I saw one about 10 years ago, came up for auction. I think it may've been in Unique cars too?

I’ve been watching this, I’m doubtful on the Statesman front nose cone, although I’d like to be proven wrong. It’s quite a handsome car.

I always preferred the Premier front to the Statesman.
Got a few tucked away you say. I'd call that a good investment.
