Has vintage car insurance now. A lot cheaper than Shannonns. Ive never has to claim though so I'm not sure how they fare on that front? the most important issue of all.
I'd be interested on the feedback of others experiences though.

Cars and house with Shannons.
Shannons were $800 a year cheaper than NRMA, even with my NRMA multi policy and 25+ years discount.
I had a bad claim experience with NRMA, which made me change. I put in a $1500 claim. My premiums went up, even though I maximum no claim for life. They explained that I still my max no claim, but my premium went up because I claimed. Then the greenslip on all four vehicles doubled because I had made the claim. So I changed.
Shannons are great to deal with and the premium includes windscreen cover (extra with NRMA) and choice of repairer.
Shannons claim process can't be faulted.

Sama as Alby, mine are with NRMA, cheaper than Shannons.
I haven't had to claim against the classic car insurance (and touch wood, I hope I never have to), but I have had claims on my daily cars with NRMA over the years and I can't fault them.
I do have a few policies with them and never a problem.
I had considered Shannons for the classic cars, but apparently the original people who were enthusiasts and who helped set up the classic car insurance have moved on, so that was another reason I didn't opt to go with Shannons.
I also know of one case, where a ute had been stolen, damaged and later recovered.
They paid the claim, but didn't go near to what the ute owed.
Because the claim was at the high end of the utes value, they offered a total payout, but if he wanted to keep the ute, he would not have gotten enough to repair/replace everything properly.
So, yes Shannons paid the claim, but they certainly did not keep their customer happy.

My NRMA insurance on cars was going up and that's without any claims throughout the year,is that what I get for my loyal 35 years??My Shannons policies went up $1.75 each i think it was in a year.NRMA has shareholders good luck with paying their dividends for them.

Year's ago I had the UC with NRMA & an old fella came out in front of me whilst driving my UC with a very smick looking 11 year old paint.
Anyway the NRMA fixed it fair enough but the accessor told me that my premiums would go up that the NRMA wouldn't look after me if anything worst ever happened & he even told me that his wife had his own two classic cars with Shannon's because they offer a better product.

Don't know what happened there,I might have to ring NRMA again.I was with NRMA,I rang Shannons 8 years ago and they quoted me $1200 cheaper in total per year for 2 cars 2 green slips 2 full insurance(agreed value)house and contents. When i bought the Chevy it went down once for multi car policies then went down again because I joined a car club, all my cars are on agreed value,I now pay $125 per month for 3 cars full insurance and house and contents.I'm pretty sure the NRMA couldn't do it for that price??🙂
Just for my ute alone back then NRMA wanted $1200 per year for full comprehensive insurance Shannons at the time were $800 per year😎👍

I always do the ring around and never just pay the renewal. These guys do play games though and will often bump up the premium on loyal customers (the lazy tax) it could be different this year ? who knows. i can never work insurance companies out other than realising you can never trust them to look after you

I'll also add that after a few years with Shannon's the UC was rear ended by a P player whilst stationary in traffic & the repair bill came to $7000 & it was on insured for $11200 at the time & they should have written it off but the Misses was using it at the for her daily & she wanted to keep it so they agreed to fix it & our premiums stayed at they were.
