Stainless trims or the actual headlight buckets? Buckets, the 7 inch version, is the same from HK to HZ and Torana LC, LJ, LH and LX. The trims for HK, HT HG are the same but slightly different for HQ to HZ and Torana's, although these trims will fit the HK to HG. I have researched this using all factory parts manuals and can give you part numbers if required. Hope this clears things up. The smaller Premier headlight buckets are the same for HK HT and HG but different from HQ to HZ.
Oh, and the "guru's" from facebook is the reason I read but don't comment. They are ALL experts.

The OP might be referring to the outer chrome die-cast surrounds. In that case there are several different types.

The are two basic types:- single or dual headlights.

With the singles there are two types chrome (Belmont, Kingwood & Monaro) & black (Monaro GTS).

With the dual types (Premier & Brougham) the black paint is applied in several variations, from memory there are 4 styles.

Hi Steve,
You are correct mate, but they also came with round headlights. Part no 7447111. Same number appears in all parts catalogues from HK to HZ, Torana LC, LJ, LH and LX. Rectangle headlight only on LH, parts catalogue number 2823345. Dr Terry is right with what the OP is after though. I was half a sleep when I read the question.

Spot on mate. I do a bit of selling on Ebay of restored parts. With the headlights, I've had one or two ask me about Torana headlight buckets. Tried telling me they were different from the HQ to HZ buckets. Told me they were "rare". I have factory parts catalogues from FJ to WB, all the Toranas, Commodores, even Fords. So I research all my parts before Ebaying them. Glad the OP got his info.

Well there you go. You learn something new every day.

I checked the parts catalogues & they don't agree with the picture posted. There are 2 different series of part numbers. Differences will also occur in casting procedures as time goes on, with no change in part numbers, but they will still interchange, as long as the number is the same.

It appears that the HG has different parts numbers & a bigger cut-out to allow for the larger top & bottom grille bars.

HK & HT share the same part numbers.

Are the same. (or at least interchangable) The HK one 68prem posted has a slightly different cut toward the tab.

I think you will find HG will fit HT....but HT wont fit HG. The gap on the top and bottom where it meets the grille is about 3mm smaller top and bottom. HT grille is squarer toward the inside edge, HG is curved and thats where it hits

I never knew either

You'd wonder why they'd bother with the extra expense of retooling? I thought HT and HG grills were an easy interchange and assumed the dimensions were the same and therefore the chrome surrounds were the same. I was wrong.
