HJ gauges not working

Hi all,

Recently the gauges in my HJ all stopped working (Fuel, Temp & Oil pressure).

They were all working, although not with any great accuracy, but suddenly stopped. Speedo and all the warning lights seem to work fine.

I have read here about the voltage regulators causing this type of thing on HZ, could this be the cause on a HJ and if so, how can I fix it ?

Thanks in advance.

Holdenpaedia, they're the brakes Mate.

Sounds like the voltage regulator has died, however, when the regulator fails, it fails in the "closed" position, which feeds 12 volts directly to the gauges and destroys them in a few seconds. Is the Volt gauge and Tacho still working..?

No volt gauge or tacho, just oil, temp, fuel (& of coarse speedo).

That’s a rare one mate
I think they came standed in the LS Monaro, which was a 2 door premier and the 4 door Prem had a clock instead of the oil gauge 🤔
P.s I’d be checking out ya fuses and to be on the safe side check the lot

As "T" posted earlier, have you checked the instruments fuse..?

In fact, probably wise to check all the fuses.

There should be a single pink wire in the instrument cluster plug that feeds the gauges voltage regulator. Would be worth testing that for power, when ignition is on.
