Ignition coil wiring for gts dash

Hey guys I installed my new Bosch GT40R coil in my 253 blue motor in my Hg wagon I put it in after a very long stressful day and wired the resistor wire to negative and dizzy to positive (very simple and stupid mistake) upon starting the car I’ve realised that the fast idle for the choke is no longer engaging and causing the car to not warm up. what could this be have I damaged something wiring up the opposite way. Since that mistake I’ve wired the yellow resistor wire to + terminal and dizzy to - terminal I also have a gts dash with a RPM taco this no longer works as I have the brown wire from taco wired to + terminal on coil is this right ? Also my oil pressure gauge is stopped working this might have something to do with the sender or taco wiring. Have I damaging the resistor or maybe a wire somewhere I smelt some burning of wires also gets a very high amount of amps on the gauge too around 20-30 amp when driving with fans on what should I start with checking to get everything working again ?

Reverse wiring the coil will cause the capacitor (condensor) to fail.
The condenspr can handle about 400v.
Revese wired, the cobdensor will see thousands of volts because the +ve boil terminal us rhe drounf vonnectipn for the coil secondary.

Correct.

Connect the brown tacho wire to the coil -ve.

It may have lost +12v.

It sounds as though the Alternator is not working.

Measure the Alternator voltage with the engine running.
It should be 13.8 - 14.2 volts.

Check the Instrument Fuse. The Oil Pressure Gauge may not be getting power.

The Automatic Choke wire may have a connection problem. The element should take a few minutes to warm up from switched off and cold engine. Don't leave the Ignition on too long before starting.

Are the fuel and temp gauges working ok..?

If so then it appears the Oil gauge may be fried.

If the Temp and Fuel are also not working correctly, then your gauge voltage regulator is probably fried.

What are you doing with a GT40R coil & a ballast resistor on a 253 Blue Motor ?

Also you mention an electric choke heater. From memory only the Blue 6-cyl has an electric choke, or does this car have a Holley conversion ?

What model Holden & what engine are you working on ??
