UC starfire 4 stall problems

Hi. Have a UC sunbird. Have just spend $1000s on it mechanically and body and interior are spec. Does well driving initially but after time (or when to come home) it can just stall when slowing at traffic lights or even to turn corner. It’s an auto. Is it possible this could be a fuel filter problem? Carby was reco’d only 500kms ago as it had bad fuel at some point. The fuel tank has also recently been drained and removed for rust/paint work. It’s like it just runs out of petrol but has full tank??

from what you describe it sounds like the issue is thermal related..because you say it is ok initially but has problems after time. Does it have a manual or automatic choke and are they set/adjusted correctly? Something else to consider is vapor lock as well as the ignition coil breaking down with heat..these can all cause an engine to stall when warm...if it's a fuel blockage I would expect that the symptoms would be there irrespective of how long you have been driving? Many older cars have an additional in line filter fitted before or after the pump to assist with fuel blockage problems if you have one..

Sounds like vapour lock, you could try a heat shield
