Is there anyone who knows how many Standard, Special and
Premier 186S were sold in late 1967 and early 1968?

There cant be too many as the red HR is the only original
186S I have seen in WA.

They were quite popular in the eastern states. I've owned several over the years. 3 Special sedans, a ute & currently a Premier wagon.

They were on the market for around 8 months, given Holden's sales in those days (approx 13,000 per month) that's around 1000,000 HRs in that timeframe. Say only 5% of buyers selected this option that's still 5,000 186S HRs built.

My guess is that there were most likely more than that.

I think the 'Holy Grail' would be a Premier wagon with 186S, 4-sp Opel, LSD & disc brakes. I've seen several of these but sadly never owned one.
